Meet Lise

Welcome!

A lot of people ask me why I named my company Lottie’s Trinkets, I will explain.

My name is Lise-Lotte, and I’m a 50/50 hybrid – my mother is Swedish, and my father was British. Growing up, my dad always called me Lottie, a family nickname that my husband, Andy, still uses today. It’s a name that feels like home, making it the perfect fit for my business. It’s me in a bead!

I was born in London in the mid-60s, but we moved to a northern suburb when I was still a baby. I have a younger sister, Bella, who’s seven years younger than me. She’s also artistic, practicing photography, drawing, painting, and writing poetry.

I married Andy in the mid-80s, and those years in London were some of the best. I worked as an accountant in the global advertising industry for 17 years, working my way up from office junior to financial accountant.

In 2001, we relocated to Minneapolis, just after the Twin Towers fell. We actually submitted our visa applications on that very day, which felt a little spooky. I joined Andy in the U.S. in 2002, and in 2003, we bought our home in Maple Grove, a northwest suburb of Minneapolis. We’ve seen the city grow into a major player in the Twin Cities over the years.

In 2005, I started my jewelry business, Lottie’s Trinkets, and have weathered two recessions and the Covid pandemic. I love working with color, shape, and texture, and it feeds my soul. This passion for color also led me to watercolor painting and pastels. Writing has always been an interest of mine, and during Covid, I found the courage to publish my first collection of short stories, The Shorts. I followed that up with Skirting the Issues and am currently working on another short story collection and a full-length novel. I’m part of a writing group at the Maple Grove Arts Center and contributed to two anthologies published in 2019 and 2020.

In my spare time, I help to run the Maple Grove Arts Center and serve as president and treasurer in a volunteer capacity. I also sit on Maple Grove’s destination marketing organization, Experience Maple Grove.

I lead a very busy arts based life, which I share with my husband Andy and two cats.

I hope this gives you a little more insight into my life and creative thinking. Feel free to follow along on my Facebook group and/or page for jewelry and then my author page for my books.
